Estate Find: Unusual 5 piece cutlery set inscribed Inox France along with the name Madeleine Dubost. (Pictures 3 and 4).
I believe this is possibly a very old set, estate item. Knives (and fork) have full tang. All are clean and sharp.
The term "INOX" commonly refers to a type of stainless steel. Stainless steel itself is an alloy of iron, chromium, and often nickel and other elements. The food industry values it for for equipment, storage tanks, and UTENSILS owing to its hygienic properties and resistance to food acids. It is known for its exceptional resistance to corrosion, staining, and rusting, making it a popular choice across various industries and applications.
The name Jean Dubost is very closely associated with the popular French knives made by Laguiole; I am speculating that Madeleine might be a family member.
Knives strongly attract a magnet, indicating steel,
