EXCELLENT CONDITION!
This listing is for a loose SWIMMING SMURF miniature
PVC figurine
produced in 1977 by Schleich. First introduced in a series of 1958
Belgian comic strips by artist Pierre Culliford (known as Peyo), it
wasn't until much later that the Smurfs became part of mainstream
culture in America. The story of fictional blue gnome-like creatures
living in the forest has spawned TV shows, movies, video games and a
host of memorabilia! Chief among the items produced in the Smurf line
are these PVC figurines, made by the renowned German company Schleich.
Hundreds of different figures were produced in this series from the late
1970's into the 1980's, and they have become quite collectable!
This
figure depicts a Smurf either at the beach or a swimming pool. He has an inner tube around his waist and is wearing swim trunks. The figure measures just over 1" tall and
roughly 2" long. This Smurf was issued with a yellow inner tube and red one. This variant is the red tube. The figurine is made of sturdy PVC plastic. A true piece of
pop culture history and a must have for any collector of Smurfs
memorabilia!
Condition: The
figure is in outstanding shape with no damage to the PVC. There is no
noticeable paint wear, scuffs or loss of color that is commonly found on these figures. The
figure has been especially well cared for over the 47 years
since it was
issued! The Schleich information
is printed on the bottoms of the feet, and is intact and legible. Exceptional eye appeal and
