QED Silver Anniversary-XT was designed as the natural replacement for the multi-award winning Silver Anniversary speaker cable.
Designed with performance in mind, QED Silver Anniversary-XT speaker cable boasts all of the characteristics associated with Silver Anniversary, but with the added enhancement of the Aircore™ technology found in the prestigious X-Tube.
QED Silver Anniversary XT jumper links will improve the performance of your speakers when replacing manufacturers' standard speaker links.
Although the jumper links are 20cm long including Airloc covers, different lengths can be supplied to order.
Please also specify Airloc connectors required, that is Airloc banana plugs and/or spades.
Features:
Unique SPOFC triple braid 5 x 16 x 0.1mm
Compressible Teflon Aircore™ for ease of termination
Low resistance, low capacitance and low inductance
Easy strip Polyethylene outer jacket
2 x 1.88mm2 conductor cross sectional area
Jumper Links 20cm long including Airloc covers
X-TUBE™ WITH AIRCORE™ TECHNOLOGY
One of the big problems as cable conductor size increases, is how to keep the inductance low. This is vital to reduce cable losses and prevent inaccuracies in the signal transfer process, i.e. distortion. The normal way to do this is to use a number of individually insulated conductors within the cable construction. This method is utilised to great effect in the design of QED's Genesis Silver Spiral loudspeaker cables. However, this results in a product that has a very high quality sound performance, but is expensive to manufacture and can be difficult to terminate.
To take advantage of this design ethos, but in a more conventional format, X-TUBE forms the conductor in the shape of a tube with an inner aircore. This has the same effect as using multiple insulated conductors and ensures that high frequencies are transmitted cleanly, with the added benefit of ease of termination. This unique tubular conductor geometry also provides lower flux density within the conductors, which gives improved transparency to the sound.
QED developed Airloc, a solder-free, airtight perfect fusion between the two metals of cable and plug. This 'cold weld' method allows the cable and plug to offer the optimum signal transfer and therefore, best possible sound quality. It also reduces contact resistance and ensures perfect long-term performance.
The new AIRLOC Forte plugs with improved pin section are designed to maximise contact area throughout the wide tolerance range found in 4mm amplifier and speaker sockets. This means that the connection remains uniformly tight and with its premium gold-plating, provides optimum sonic performance through time.
Airloc Forte connectors are available with plastic ABS covers as shown above or with metal covers (at extra cost).
The gold-plated pin section of Airloc plugs fitted with plastic or metal covers is the same.
Put simply, this is the best termination method for QED loudspeaker cables.
