This is a nice piece. The amp is working well. FM is working as well as the dial cord and tuning manually. The preset stations in autoscan mode works and can be adjusted with the thumbwheels. All inputs are working - AUX, Tape, Phono (low & high).
I could not get the AM section working, and no one listens to AM anymore so I didn't dig in more than superficially. The AM antenna is inside next to the AM board. The Stereo beacon and Muting lights do not work and panel meter back light is not working. FM Muting when on, takes out all FM stations, strong and weak and I suspect it puts the unit in mono thus I don't detect FM Stereo. I don't have the equipment to calibrate the AM or FM sections of this unit. If you do, then this may be a gem for you. FM is working across the dial but, I don't hear stereo from strong stations. The FM antenna is missing from the unit, but the FM terminals are available for an external antenna which is what I used for testing.
The amplifier section is working wonderfully. I set the idle current at 15mV per the service manual. Dial glass was pulled and clean inside and out without removing any lettering! All the terminals are solid and working.
