This auction is for two vintage tool shop accessories for a steam engine or model electric motor setup. Both have a pulley setup that you can attach to a steam or electric motor using those flexible metal bands. Not sure of the dates on them, but seem 1950-1960. I think they are made of either bakelite or a hard plastic. The drill press is made by S.E.L. of England. It is a bit over 4.5" tall. Has what looks like an original drill bit installed. The little knurled holder tightens and loosens to change bits (there is only the one installed one). As noted above in condition, the holder for the raise / lower lever is broken as is one of the foot attachment areas. Marked on the base "Model Driller No. 3030", and "S.E.L. Made in England."   The other piece is a double wheel grinder. It is very well done - even having two oil cups for the shaft and a little door that opens to a compartment (be careful how you store things in there as it is open at the bottom). Turns a little tight, seems to be able to be taken apart, might just need a cleaning/lube. 3.5" to top of grinder cover (one of them is repaired). 2" across front of base;  1 10/16 across side of base. Marked on back "Desterwitz." I found a single reference to them online at a German toy auction house that had sold 4 similar tool shop pieces (a drill press and 3 different table saws). They identified them as bakelite.

This came with a large lot of electric lights, dynamo's, motor's, and such that looks like it was used on some big train setup. Most of the stuff was Marklin, what wasn't branded was frequently marked German. Majority seemed to date from the 1950's / 1960's.

In the last series of 3 pictures I show two of the boxes of stuff this came with - there is a third, but I forgot to take a picture of it. All of the items will be put up over the next few weeks. In the last photo I show this piece with a 2.5" tall Mignot soldier - the soldier is shown for size comparison only and is not included in this auction. Please see my other auctions and my eBay store for vintage German and other metal animals, figural desk items by Heyde and other makers, vintage toy soldiers, steam engines and accessories, tin and windup toys, and vintage and out of print books on old toys.

Taxes: eBay now automatically adds sales tax to your cost for items going to states that require it.

Payment: I accept all the payment methods that eBay offers. Payment is due within four days from the end of the auction.  If your payment is not received within this time period the eBay automated sales tool takes over and starts hounding you.

Shipping:  My auctions end on Saturday. If you pay by 5:00 E.S.T. on Sunday I'll have them in the mail on Monday. Payments made later in the week or purchases made from my store are shipped as soon as I can get to the Post Office, but that can take several days. I combine shipping on all purchases made and paid for at the same time (unless you're combining a book and toys as books use inexpensive media mail in the U.S. while toys can't).  I use First Class (up to 16 oz) and Priority mail. Books ship media mail. I only charge actual postage - no added fees. I use lots of bubble wrap, peanuts, and good boxes. In a group of multiple pieces each item is wrapped individually. Original boxes or other original paper item go into a plastic bag in case you get delivery on a rainy day.

International Shipping: I gladly ship international. Please note that there can be lengthy delays at Customs. Per eBay rules, import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges -- these charges are the buyer's responsibility.

Return Policy: Returns are accepted. I use a loupe to examine the toys while I'm listing them and I try and mention the significant condition issues I see. I value my eBay reputation and I'm not knowingly going to put out false or misleading info on a toy. I leave feedback so please do the same. If there is any problem with the item contact me first before leaving feedback, and we’ll work it out.
