What is Dickey Betts “From One Brother to Another” SG “Artist Proof # 4?
1961-62 SG given to Duane Allman by Dickie Betts
A few years ago, Gibson Custom Shop released the Dickey Betts “From One Brother to Another” SG “Artist Proof # 4, but it was so popular that it disappeared from the market. The one given to Derek Trucks is # 4
With that in mind, this guitar has been recreated to Derek Trucks specifications with scratches, signatures, pegs, etc.
Greco's SG has a high level of perfection, and has been around for almost 50 years, so the wood is completely dry, and the live sound is similar to that of an acoustic guitar, with a strong resonant sound, and is lightweight. And the sound is gutsy and the best sound. There are sounds that only vintage guitars can produce.
This is a highly recommended guitar for those who like Duane Allman, Dickie Betts, Derek Trucks, and those looking for a resonant SG.
The pickups are original and have a vintage-like powerful sound. The neck is straight, and the truss rod has plenty of room on both sides. The frets are about 80% still usable.
