There are many of these listed here on eBay but - but! - looking at the pictures, the length of the K&E winding stem is wider and shorter than this one.

The K&E marked black wind stem here juts out past the circle logo diameter...and the only one I see like it.  easier to wind? special edition release?  no clue.

Google did tell me the company started in 1867, so...

This tape measure weighs in at 1 pound 10 ounces...heavy.

The winding stem side has white flecks - paint?  leather dings?  not sure.   Other side is clean.

My mother kept this because it belonged to her father, and had sentimental value.

I am moving and cleaning out some of the furniture pieces I did not get into several years back:  found this, and now it is time to send this back into the world for someone else to use and appreciate.
