Antique Sandwich Glass Clear Glass "Petal" Socket, with Pressed "Loop" Base Candlestick Holder, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, MA.,  c. 1840-60.  This clear glass candlestick holder is a beautiful examples of Sandwich glass in very good condition.  This example has a petal socket, faceted standard and a pressed loop base. This is one of the most attractive and classical shapes of the candlesticks produced at the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company. This is a very well known Sandwich "Petal and Loop" candlestick, comprised of a petal socket, joined with wafers to a known Sandwich pressed loop base.

SIZE:  The candlestick is approximately 7" H. x 2 1/2" Dia. at the top and 4 5/16" Dia. at the pressed loop base.  

CONDITION:  Very good condition with a tiny chip toone of the petals and minimal nicks and roughness to the base.  There are also imperfections to the glass that are often found in early American pressed glass.  These include specks of sand, bubbles, annealing lines, striations and other imperfections.
