Rare Vintage NAVVY Workers Wooden Wheelbarrow

This style of wheelbarrow were produced for the NAVVY workers also known as NAVVIES. They were a large force of manual labourers who built a lot of the early large civil engineering projects like canals and railways. The frame is hardwood and looks like oak and possibly some ash, the sides of the wheelbarrow and wider parts are made from elm. It does have a lot of old woodworm holes and a little bit of rot on the bottom of the inside. It still seems very solid and strong, the wheel spins nicely. A rare survivor, a lot of these were probably used until they were worn out, a great display or collectors piece.

I will have to remove the wheel if its going to be posted, there's two square nuts which tighten the bearings. To fit these back on you have to tilt them like is shown on the last photo to, it takes just a little force and it fits back in and then tighten the nuts again.

Overall measurements 140cm long, 65cm wide & 65cm high.

Postage is for UK mainland only, collection welcome.
