Original, Antique Late 1800s, Brass FANCY Apple Crate Stencil in Very Good Condition. This rare stencil is from the estate of  Mr. I. G. Mick who was a storekeeper in Cresco, Pennsylvania in the early 20th Century. Mr. Mick used this stencil to mark the wooden crates he sold this type of apple from.

This is very little information on this variety of apple. Research shows that FANCY refers to the Cornell Fancy, which originated here in Pennsylvania in 1870. A partial description states "flesh white, tender, crisp, juicy, subacid. Very good. Tree vigorous". It was primarily used for eating and cooking. The photo I included of the apple is from a early 1900s print.

Shipped in a plastic sleeve, taped to a stiff piece of corrugated cardboard and inserted into a bubble wrap envelope. A tracking number will be provided.
