The Tureen is approximately 9 1/2" Tall (To the top of the lid) - 7" with the lid off and 9 1/4" Wide from handle to handle.

Very Good to Excellent Vintage Condition: The Tureen, the cover and ladle have no crazing, cracks, breaks or repairs.
  1. There is a chip on the underside of the base of the tureen (See picture #5). It has no effect on the physical or aesthetic integrity.
  2. The Ladle is in excellent physical condition - Partial wear of the leaves on the floral design at the top of the handle (See pictures #6 & 7)
  3. The ladle has a bare/unglazed spot on the very top of the backside of the handle (See picture #10). This bare spot is a common (if not normal) occurrence on these ladles as shown in Picture #18. --- In doing some research prior to listing the tureen, I noticed that these ladles commonly have this bare spot and I became convinced that they come out of the factory like so. Picture #18 is a collage I made showing these bare spots on four other ladles, besides my own, that were posted around the web. (I could be wrong, and it could be that these ladles easily wore out at these spots from being placed on the counter, but personally, I don't see that as being a likely scenario). ---
  4. Factory defect on the cover. There is a dip in the cover's finished glaze. It appears to me that when they fired the cover, there was another item resting on it and when they pulled them apart, it left a dip in the finished glaze of the cover. (See picture #14 & 15) If you look at the pictures I provided, you can even see a small piece of ceramic stuck in the dip. This ceramic is not a chip out of the cover, it is a chip from the other item that got stuck to the cover when they pulled them apart. I can't come up with an explanation of how this could have happened after it left the factory which leads me to conclude that it is a factory defect.
  5. When you remove the cover, there is a very small mark on the rim of the tureen - It is not a chip - It's just a small, very shallow, smooth and unpainted/unglazed indent on the rim (See Pictures #16 & 17).
