BETA DISK 128 MINI interface
One of the most popular disk systems for the ZX Spectrum 48KB/128KB/Nucleon

Self Home-Made Electronic Kit
Mint box color

• Optional to connect 1 to 4 floppy drives 3.5"
• Fully compatible with the ZX Nucleon 512KB, ZX Spectrum 48KB, 128KB "toast rack" and 128K +2 Amstrad gray box (UK models),
Didaktik Gama, M. Interface is incompatible with the ZX Spectrum +2A, +2B and +3, these have non-standard signals ROMCS (2x)
on the edge connector and incompatible ROM.
• Use floppy disk controller FD1793 or compatible
• Four different versions of the system TR-DOS selectable by switches, 5.04T, 5.041, 5.05CZ, 6.11
• LED power-on indication (green LED) and TR-DOS system activation (red LED)
• The device is powered by the computer

COMPATIBILITY:

Because the schematic is largely taken from the original interface,
is directly compatible with these computers without any further modifications:

• ZX Nucleon 512KB
• ZX Spectrum 48KB
• ZX Spectrum 128KB "toast rack" with radiator to the right
• ZX Spectrum 128KB +2 Amstrad gray box
• Didaktik Gama, M (Didaktik Gama with small fix)
• Other clone with standard system bus connector and compatible Sinclair Basic ROM are theoretically compatible but not tested

ZX Spectrum 128KB +2A, +2B and +3: This computers is incompatible in terms of the ROMCS signal (25B), which is doubled with them. In addition, they also contain incompatible BASIC ROM. Therefore, the Beta Disk interface can not be used with them!

Kit contents:

PURPLE printed circuit board, all components in labeled bags, programmed GAL and EPROM circuits, 3d printed box + rubber feet + screws, self-adhesive label (has punched all holes). I do not send the content of GAL circuits in JEDEC, it is not FREE, thank you for your understanding.

The kit does not include a detailed description of working with TR-DOS. It is assumed that the customer already has this knowledge, or is an active user, not a passive person, who will find it on the website himself, there are plenty of them! The kit is intended for more advanced electronics, it requires some knowledge of components, soldering, measurement, working of digital circuits, etc. I expect that only customer who are willing and able to solve any problems that arise during construction will start building, the seller cannot provide this support. Thank you.
