A Soviet-made chronometer, SLAVA brand, considered by many to be the best mechanical chronometer manufactured by the former Soviet Union, is offered at auction. This stopwatch model is famous for being intended for the Soviet space aviation industry. It was used for experimentation in the absence of gravity and for use by the crew on space missions. In the announcement, a curious photo is attached (not included in the sale), where you can see the use of this model of chronometer by a group of Soviet astronauts inside a spaceship.
It has the split function, therefore, it allows to make partial registers. It has three measuring needles (see attached photos).
It has three functions, which are activated by means of the crown and two buttons.
In the crown: rope, march and general stop are given.
On the left button: Stop and recovery of the partial needle (red).
On the right button: Return all needles to zero.
Large needles have the function of 30 seconds per tenths.
The small central hand has a thirty minute split function.
From what I have seen, the stopwatch works.
The chronometer is accompanied by its original factory protection case, which is very deteriorated by use and the passage of time, and it is also accompanied by the manufacturing control sheet, where it is indicated, that it was distributed , or delivered, in 1981. The sheet has text in Russian, and I deduce that it specifies the characteristics and warranty of the product.
Like any old article, you can see some normal signs of use and the passage of time. In the announcement, 11 photos are attached, where you can see the state of conservation of the lot.
Year of manufacture: between the years 1970 and 1980.
Machinery with 20 rubies.
Case diameter: 65 mm.
Dial diameter: 59mm.
Interesting Soviet military stopwatch, very rare to get!
