This beautiful vintage soft plush velvety tapestry features a group herd of elk or European red deer crossing a stream in a winter sunset setting.  The tag says it was made in Italy of rayon and cotton and distributed by R.T. Company in New York. It measures 75" long x 49" wide.

The overall condition is nearly excellent with typical curling at the corners. A fabric pocket has been sewn on the back for easy rod hanging on a wall. My childhood home had a tapestry just like this and it was tack-mounted to the wall with custom mitered wood lengths attached to the edges to frame it in. Display with other rustic items to give a hunting lodge or cozy cabin feel!
