RAF  5 Sqn  Signed 2 WW1 Pilots Wg Cdr Hollingworth and Wg Cdr T E Guttery 

26 Jul 73 BFPS 1403  60th Anniversary of the Formation of the Squadron.Flown to RAF Akrotiri  in VC 10 then in  Lightning for air refuelled flight , Cyprus to Leconfield. Returned to Akrotiri with a fault cover transferred to Britannia and flown to RAF Leconfield. Personally Signed by the Lightning Pilot Sqn Ldr T J L Gauvain and to founder members of no 5 Sqn from 1913.,Wg Cdr Hollingworth and Wg Cdr T E Guttery  MBE ( RFC Number 579 ) Served as a boy in South Staffordshire Regiment. Transferred to the RFC 12 Aug 1912 originally served with No 3 Squadron then transferred to No 5 Sqn. Went to France 1914  technical duties in connection with flying.Whilst serving with 23 Wing he devised the modifications to the Sopwith Camel to produce two seater dual control versions. During WW2 served on various staff appointments with technical and flying training commands and at the Ministry of Aircraft production.Certified No 1230 of 1250 signed Project Officer Sqn Ldr Gauvain RAF .
