This is an antique Number 55 combination plane made by the Stanley Rule and Level Company.  Produced from 1899 to 1962, this plane was designed to replace wooden molding planes and has been referred to as the "Swiss army knife" of hand planes.

This plane is in original unrestored condition with the bumps and bruises and a bit of rust appropriate to its age.  The adjustment screws all work properly.  It comes with the accessories shown in the photos and four boxes of cutters with 50 blades total.  It has a sturdy sheet metal box lined with some fibrous material.  The box is not original and appears hand made.

Also included is a reprint booklet with details about the #45 and #55 planes.
