"Encampment"

9" x 12" Original Oil Painting on Canvas

This painting was inspired by a Edward H. Boos photograph taken in Western Montana in 1905 on the Flathead Indian Reservation.

This painting is being sold UNFRAMED, the frame shown in pic. 2 is not included.  The painting is strung for hanging, and can be hung as is, or framed later by the buyer.

The painting is signed ATC in the lower lefthand corner.  My grandfather was a painter.  He always signed his paintings with his initials.  I do the same, in honor of him.  Full signature is on the back of the painting.

About the artist:

Alison Teresa Carlo

Alison started drawing as a horse-crazy young girl in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She drew horses and outdoor scenes, as she has always been a nature lover and prefers spending time outside.  While earning her B.A. in chemistry at Kalamazoo College, she had the opportunity to study art history for six months in Strasbourg, France.   She remembers wishing that she could create works as beautiful as those she saw in the European museums.  After college, she moved to San Diego, California.  Some years later, she married a man who happened to be an art collector.  Her husband collects Western Art, so for years she has been living among beautiful paintings.  After the birth of their son, she began to draw and paint again.
