DATING TO THE 1860’S
FASHIONED OF A BLACK SILK VELVET AND IS LAVISHLY HAND EMBROIDERED IN BULLION EMBROIDERY WITH PEARL ACCENTS FULLY AROUND THE SIDES WITH AN ORNATE BOW AND BRANCH DETAILING WITH PEARL ACCENTS WITH A CENTER ROSETTE OF GOLD SPANGLES WITH A GOLD CORD RUNNING DOWN WITH A BULLION TASSEL OFF THE SIDE WITH A SEQUIN AND BULLION ROSETTE AT THE TOP POINT.
THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN A QUILTED BENGALINE WITH A TEXTURED INNER SWEATBAND WITH A FLORAL AND SCROLL WORK GOLD DETAILING AT THE TOP.
CONDITION: THE BULLION EMBROIDERY HAS EVENLY TARNISHED THROUGHOUT AND IS MORE OF A SILVER TONE. FIVE PEARLS ARE MISSING. THE VERY BOTTOM EDGE HAS EVER SO SLIGHT WEAR. THE TASSEL IS IN TONES OF BOTH GOLD AND THE TARNISHED METALLIC.
