Selling one NOS VDO Cockpit Series 1 3,500 RPM 3 and 3/8" diesel tachometer kit with VDO generator sender, extension shaft adapter and drive key.  The generator can be installed with or without the extension shaft adapter and drive key, unless it's being installed on a Glendinning engine synchronizer, in which case the extension shaft adapter must be used to avoid the risk of breaking the drive key and destroying the engine synchronizer mechanism if the engine synchronizer eats up any broken pieces of drive key.

NOS never used or installed gauge kit, not a return item.

Fits a 3 and 3/8" or 85mm diameter hole.  Will work on 12 Volt, 24 Volt and 32 Volt applications without requiring a resistor.  Universal 12/24/32 Volt tachometer and generator sender.  The tach is calibrated for engines that have a 1/2 (.500 ratio) tachometer cable takeoff (Most Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, and Perkins marine diesel engines).  The inner shaft of the extension adapter has a .187" diameter tanged tip.  The outer shaft of the extension adapter has a 7/8"-18 female thread pattern where it hooks up to the engine or the engine synchronizer unit.  The generator has a 7/8"-18 female thread pattern.  Tach is complete with mounting hardware and lighting socket with 12 Volt bulb.  The 12 Volt bulb can be replaced with a 24 Volt bulb (Not included).  The tach and generator have been tested together and confirmed to be in good working condition.  Yes this is necessary on an NOS tach kit, due to how old it is.

The tach will match all other VDO Series 1 gauges including VDO Series 1 water temp gauges and oil PSI gauges.

FAQ:

Q:  "I also want to buy X from you.  Is there a way I can buy both parts without having to pay for shipping twice?"

A:  "Yes.  If you buy this from me, after you have paid for it I will then change the shipping price on X to one dollar."

(Note: I will only give this discount if you wait for me to change the shipping price on X.  I won't give the discount if you ask me after you pay for X, or if you are reading this after you bought two different items that don't include this one).

Q:  "Will this work on my Cummins engine?"

A:  "Yes however on a Cummins engine, it will be necessary to run a 90 degree angle drive adapter to keep oil from leaking into the generator.  So unless your Cummins engine already has a 90 degree angle drive adapter, it will be necessary for you to install one.  Ask me about availability and pricing if your Cummins engine doesn't already have a 90 degree angle drive adapter."
