Description

Antique Belle Époque / Victorian era French 18k yellow gold stick pin. In the form of a sword, the hilt is beautifully modeled with fine engraved details and set with 6 pearls and 4 square cushion cut emeralds. Having a ported back, allowing light to pass freely through each emerald, resulting in greater brilliance and shine as the pin is worn. Measures 3 5/8" length x 3/4" wide. Weighs 3 grams. Hallmarked with the French 18K gold standard mark in a form of an eagle's head in use in France from 1838. Bearing a goldsmith mark for Amédée Datigny, active circa 1892 at 44 rue Saint-Augustin, Paris. Also marked with a Russian 56 zolotnik, the contour after the number appears to be the St. George for Moscow. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use.
