Here we have an outstanding piece, made from ash splints, and assorted vines, the basket is all hand made.  A decorative piece for flowers or other similar intent. (Ikebana?).  Coming out of an estate with a handful of other excellent artisan baskets, many by artists represented by the Smithsonian Renwick.  This piece is 15" tall, x 22" wide, x 24" long.  In excellent condition, I can see no breaks or damage.  Signed by the artist.  I'm guessing it was made in the 1980's.
