Hello and thanks for viewing the listing for my lovely motorhome.

This van has been absolutely central to so many adventures and weekends away its difficult to describe the feeling of selling it, but the reality is my kids are too old now (17 and 21) meaning it's just my wife and I, and this is just too big!

The motorhome is built by dethleffs and based on a Fiat Ducato cab, but until many of these, it doesn't have the Fiat engine, instead the Iveco.  The engine is a 4 cylinder 3.0 turbo diesel and pulls like a train, even thought it's such a big vehicle and provides reasonable MPG probably because the engine isn't maxed out all the time.   It has a folder full of service history and I'll put a new MOT on for the new buyer (I'm very confident there'll be no issues.

OK, onto the spec...

It has a heating system which works on either mains electricity, or via its own 12 volt system and using gas to produce the heat.  The heating is via warm air ducts scattered around the van ensuring everyone gets a bit of heat even on cold nights.  We've used this camper all season and it's worked really well for us.

The bathroom is really clever, in it's normal configuration you have a vanity unit, a sink and of course the chemical toilet, but then the wall comes out and moves across to convert it into a shower unit.  The shower is pretty good and the system can heat enough water for a decent shower, but don't go expecting a shower like you have at home, it's not that :-).

The motorhome has 2 x 80 litre water tanks, one for fresh water and the other for waste water, but there's also a hook up and drain so if you're on a posh site you can drain the waste water straight into the camp site drain.  There is also a locker box for the 2 gas bottles (included) and the heating boiler bit is in the bottom of the main wardrobe.  The heating is really quiet and doesn't disturb you at all even when left on all night.

The layout is decent too, there is a large dining area at the very back which converts to a massive king sized double bed.  Sometimes we leave this setup as a bed and just eat in the middle eating area, so treat it a bit like a fixed bed configuration.  The middle bed is described as a double, but I'd say you need to be very comfortable with the person you're sharing it with, but works really well for kids.  Also over the cab is a fold down, fixed double bed with its own reading lights and window.  The sleeping accommodation is for 6, and we've done it a few times with 6, but I'd say it's a very comparable 4 of 5, with 6 at a push.

For the kitchen area, it has a decent sized fridge freezer combo which is powered by the vehicle battery when you're moving, or mains when you're on a posh site, or you can run it from the gas bottles if you're a bit more off grid.  I can't tell you how important it is to have decent freezer capacity when you're out and about with the kids - having a good supply of ice pops, frozen chips and fish fingers just makes the weekend so easy to deal with and practical.  (We always set out to make amazing meals, and whilst it's possible, sometimes just chicken nuggets and chips is all the kids want and it's so easy in the oven).

Back to the motorhome...

Outside there is a flamia sun canopy which folds out the the side and creates a nice sheltered area.  It's good for a bit of sun protection and to let you set out with a glass of wine, even if it rains a little, but you can't leave it out in the wind or heavy rain as it's not designed for heavy duty use.

The storage is what sets this motorhome apart from the rest - it's massssssive!  There is a bike rack on the back which can take 4 push bikes, then a huge garage space at the back under the dining area, as well as under floor storage that goes full width under the floor of the main living area.  We've taken all sorts with us in this, as well as using it to collect a new fridge for home!!!

In terms of driving it, the drivers seat has good visibility, you get an arm rest both sides and all the creature comforts for long trips like air conditioning (which is ice cold), cruise control and a multi function display.  When you're on a motorway or an A road, it drives like any van does, but on smaller roads you are aware of it's size and just need to keep an eye out on the mirrors.

Any questions, let me know!
