This Hornby 9F is a hybrid -The loco and tender chassis are from the limited edition weathered black 9F 92134 which was released in 2002 under R2200A. The loco and tender body are from the Railroad version of 92220 Evening Star which was released under R2785. These two components are entirely compatible and no butchering of the parts was needed to make things fit.
The box is for R2785 Railroad version which was a loco drive model but due to the change of chassis, the loco for sale has the tender drive (as the pictures show)
The loco runs very smoothly and there is no evidence of wheel lock on the loco chassis - which can affect some tender drive items.
The BR Green has received a gloss coat and the black part of the loco (Smokebox and smoke deflectors) are in matt finish. The wheels and chassis below the running plate are in a lightly weathered finish.
The coupling and electrical connection between the loco and tender is in good order. The front coupling is missing to allow the buffer beam to be detailed.
Low starting price to reflect the fact that it is a bit of a "mongrel" but overall it is still a nice loco.
