Unique, 1970/71, Hot Wheels, Redline, Tom McEwen, Mongoose, Chrome / Unfinished?
This car is in quite a nice condition for its age.
I didn't know what it was until I found the "Mongoose" name underneath the body.
(It also has the numbers 050 and 6410 under the body)
I found out all about it on Hot Wheels Wiki.
The strange thing is, is that I could not find any that were silver or chrome.
I know that when we played with this car in the early 70s it had always looked like this.
It also never had the stickers, we wouldn't have taken them off.
I have the yellow Snake Dragster from back then as well, and it still has all its stickers, slightly worn. (I'll be selling that soon too).
The car is shiny, with a few scuffs and scratches. It actually looks worse in the photos than in real life.
The only flaw I found with it is that the black plastic body prop has a split where it passes by the little bump to hold the body up (see second to last photo). I didn't even really notice it until I started looking for flaws.
Please contact me with any questions.
Also, if anyone has any information about another silver Mongoose (or what the story is with this one) I'd like to know about it. Thanks.
