circa 1984 to 1985.
We are delighted to offer this fabulous vintage period train set. Limited edition Coronation set of the L.M.S. 6220 Streamlined Express, tender & four matching passenger carriages. The loco is a 4-6-2 blue/silver livery, model number R.685 & the carriages R.422, R.423. All boxed & in superb condition. This set comes directly from a recent estate sale & is sold in superb as found vintage condition. Loco, tender & carrioages are all in lovely condition. Box for the loco shows signs of age, light creasing, tab seam tears, base hole & edge wear scuffs but comes with tan card printed slip & polystyrene holder. The boxes for the carriages however appear to be in much nicer condition with only light surface print & light edge wear scuffs. All are sold with no working guarantees given or implied as I have no track or power unit to test them with. Overall in fabulous condition. A stunning & quite rare train set which would make for a wonderful addition to serious Hornby collection. It displays very nicely indeed & box logo design would date this set nicely to 1984 - 1985.
