This old quilt is in good condition, gently used by previous owners: we found one small busted seam of no importance at all (no pic posted) but no stains, holes or rips on the business side. The binding is also in good shape.

The backing has a cluster of small stains (pic # 16) but no rips or other damages. The quilt has no odors.

It measures 82" by 67" across and weighs 4 1/2 lb. unboxed; the bed in the photos is a queen, 80" by 60".

The fabrics are 100% cotton; the red one is Turkey red, a type of vintage cotton. The piecing and quilting were done by hand.

The pattern has several names, one of them being Rolling Star; for this particular quilt, the makers pieced the different color cottons in such a way that the star not only "rolls", but also appears, in certain angles, to more out of the surface, giving the the observer the an illusion of depth similar, but less pronounced, than the Tumbling Blocks pattern. This effect is visible on pic # 9 and others.
