Up for sale is my May 1982 Seiko Dolce 6030-5480. This is anultra slim quartz powered dress watch from Seiko's high end Dolce line that waspopular in the late 70s and throughout the 80s. The watch is approximately 29mmwide, 36mm lug to lug, 6mm thick, and features 17mm lugs. The braceletaccommodates up to a roughly 7.25in wrist with the links included. The dial isa pale gold with sparkles of brighter gold showing when the light is right. Thecolor is interesting for a gold tone watch - more a pale champagne rather thana bold yellow gold. As someone who doesn't really like gold watches, this ismore subtle than I expected. Finishing is polished on the case and centerlinks, with brushing on the rest of the bracelet.

The case is NSAG - an ultra-hard combination of gold andtungsten carbide, I think, that makes the case and bracelet almost imperviousto scratches. Yes, the bracelet! Unlike pretty much all of the Dolce modelswith ultra cases the 6030-5480 features a hardened bracelet in addition to thecase (the 9521-5030 being the only other model with a hardened bracelet as wellI'm aware of). The bracelet features the hard NSAG material plated overstainless steel.

The watch is in overall excellent condition. The case ispretty much flawless, thanks to it's ultra hard construction. The braceletshows wear from use - some of the NSAG material appears to be scraped off insmall spots on a few links, there are a few spots of discoloration, and theplating appears to be cracked or dented on a few more. No doubt this is whySeiko had so few hardened bracelets - they were scratch resistant, but if youhit them hard enough, the coating could still show damage. Overall, these flawsare hard to notice and are located on the underside of the bracelet. The dialis pristine, with no water damage. The crown is original and still has theblack cabachon in place. The no-date 6030 quartz movement is running great, consistently under it's +/-10s a month rating, and had a new battery installedin March.
