This is a classic formal hat from the mid 1950's. My missionary aunt wore it to dressy occasions in the United State and Africa.
Considering its age, it is in excellent shape. I think she saved it for extra special occasions so it did not get out of the box much. The veil has seen better days; it could easily be removed or you could replace it.
Eight self covered buttons anchor the detailed folds around the front.

Stiff, linen look fabric with a sheen.

Approximately 3" tall at the crown. Measures 9.25" front to back, 7.25" side to side over all. Inner "sweat band" is 7" front to back, 6" side to side. Unique clamps midway to help hold it on one's head. Made by the Clover Lane Hat Company (tag in back of hat).

This would make a great hat to top off a retro outfit or would also add a distinctive touch to be used as the anchor of a bride's veil.
It is too pretty to just be kept in our dry climate, non-smoking home as a memento of a wonderful lady. It deserves to be part of someone's life who will wear and enjoy it.

It will be shipped it in a sturdy box so it will not be crushed.
