The books are full leather. Each book has had an attached bookplate inside the front coverthat has been removed and left some residue..

These books are in excellent condition with little wear. All have light shelf wear on the bottoms of the covers and there are a couple of light scuffs on the back cover of vol 3.

The gold on the covers looks like new.

The end pages show no fading.

The gilt on the edge of the pages is in very good condition with some light scratching here and there and a little loss on a couple volumes.
