The books are full leather. Each book has an attached bookplate inside the front cover with a former owner's name.

These books are in near mint condition with little wear. The three red books have light shelf wear on the bottoms of the covers and the "End of the Berlin Diary" has a couple of light white flecks on the cover. See photos. 

The gold on the covers looks like new.

The end pages show no fading.

The gilt on the edge of the pages is in very good condition with some light scratching here and there.
