This is a fantastic one of a kind cape.

My mother had this made for her in the 1960s.

It's a tweed like fabric which is some kind of blend but I do not believe it contains wool. This fabric is light-medium weight and works for spring or fall. It is also soft and not scratchy.

My mother had a seamstress friend who I am certain made this for her. The pattern is a black and white houndstooth weave.

Cape with arm holes.

It is lined with relatively thin fabric and has three large black buttons down the front. There are a few loose threads here and there, but no stains rips or other major problems.

I had this in my closet for 40+ years.

I wore it once as part of a Cruella de Vil costume (won 1st prize!)

I recently machine washed it in gentle cycle and it came out beautifully. Line dry and ready to go.

Due to the age of fabrics used, I wouldn’t recommend many repeated washings. Also dry cleaning could be used, if preferred. However you can purchase with confidence that it was recently cleaned and should be good to go for many wearings.

I’m almost 6 ft tall and it hits just above my knees.

Measurements:

41" back seam top to bottom.

31" laying flat front at 3rd button.

Very versatile sizing.
