It took me over two years to complete this artwork of Billy Strings.

There is a concert ticket in the painting that will take you on a ride. This is the concert that never

happened. Three were dead and one wasn't even born yet. the concert was to take place on September 18th,1970 but Hendrix's died that day.

Billy String is in with these three because he pays ohmage to the past with his music today. He knows how to play the guitar, reminds me of Hendrix playing style. The three (Jimi, Jim, Janis) never got to play together on stage. The painting is putting them together on that day, but it never happened. Billy finds the ticket and he placed his name to the bill to play with the three.

I got to see Janis as a young boy while shining shoes on Proctor Street in downtown the day she came home for a school reunion, I was 8 years old. At the time I didn't know what all the fuss was all about until I was around 13 and started my art. I have done any pictures of Janis, and they are out there.
