This item belongs to a special edition set of cards(25 in total) that was issued to honor a group of Venezuelan MLB baseball players wearing their MLB uniforms, sponsored by Gillette, Duracell, and Oral-B
very rare to see.
THE SET
From 1993 on a new brand for Baseball cards enter to the Venezuelan Market with a complete new marketing strategy, a complete new design for its baseball cards, packages and publicity printing the cards in cardboard with a quality never seen in the Venezuelan market.From now on it was in the past to stick the baseball card on an album or to find pieces of paper glued to the back of the baseball cards.
"Line up" starts with its
first edition showing Venezuelan players and loaded with MLB and Latin
American players , the average of the sets came with at least 36 packages and
near 360 cards including special sub sets to honor a very special players,The
Caribbean Series sub-set loaded with the best of the best players
from Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Every sets show the local and "The Caribbean
series" Baseball Teams, Players, Local Broadcaster, specials
sub sets, Teams Logos, Umpires, Team owners,Teams pets, Stadiums and in some
cases important political as presidents, governors or mayors. Some sets
could come with some special autographed cards.
The sponsors added quickly to this new baseball
cards effort creating subsets for Kellogg's, Gillette, Maltin Polar and
Marinela between others.
"Line up" issued its Baseball cards
sets from 1993 until 2003 creating in some years parallel Baseball
Stickers sets printed in front with the baseball player and in the back with
just a number.
