A Set of 4 Crested George II Table Spoons made in London in 1747 in excellent antique condition. From the E. F. Hutton Collection.

Length 8" or 20 cm each

Width: 1 5/8’” or 4.2 cm each

Weight: 283.62 grams total

Description:

The Crest appears to be an eagle perched on top of a small tower. The condition is excellent with a good gauge of silver and no worn spots or deformations. We were unable to discover a makers mark and our only clue being the date letter lower case 'm' for 1747.

As is nearly always the case with spoons of this age the hallmarks are somewhat distorted by secondary hammering, so they can rarely be made out apart from the date mark. They also show the lion passant for Sterling Silver.
