A George II Hanoverian tablespoon with crest on the front in excellent condition with clearly readable marks. Made by Thomas Doxey of London in 1759. It is unusual to have the crest engraved on the front of a Hanoverian spoon in excellent condition with good marks. From the E. F. Hutton Collection.
As is nearly always the case with spoons of this age the hallmarks are somewhat distorted by secondary hammering, however they can still be made out and they show the maker's mark, the King's head and the lion passant for Sterling Silver.
The Crest shows a pair of armor covered arms clasping a small round object with a parrot perched on top.
