A lovely quality antique natural shell cameo; hand carved to depict a bacchante or classical goddess, with vines in her hair, set in a stylized pinchbeck type gilt yellow metal mount, with a glazed locket compartment to the back containing an old photo of a particularly cute pup (easily changed out if desired), for wear as a pin.

CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of detail wear commensurate with age and use. Wants a light clean perhaps. DEFECTS: None. DATE/MARKS: Around 1880/1900. Not marked. DIMENSIONS: 49 x 44 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). WEIGHT: Approx. 18.4 grams.
