A very rare oval Faux wood bois durci or Gutta Percha oval plaque detailed to look and feel just like an exquisite wood carving ,with an attractive recumbent loosely-draped goddess being entertained by 2 musical putti.
This stunning plaque in te style of a wonderful carved wooden plaque ,in very good antique condition, no chips or cracks, some light surface wear to edges.but minimal ,not realy worth a mention , especially given its age and rarity

Bois Dorci and Gutta Percha being the for runner of later Bakelite and other composition materials , but not being a plastic and rather made from A mixture of sawn wood dust and other ingredients .
To the back some paper with ribbon and hanging loop.should be replaced if you intend to hang this interesting item
