Description

Gorgeous Antique 19th century Gorham sterling silver paper knife / letter opener. The handle is decorated in relief with charming florals and foliage. Monogrammed en verso with engraved interlaced initials JL, and perhaps letter E in the center. The blade is sterling silver. Bearing the Gorham hallmarks of the lion, anchor and letter G. The seashell date letter for 1896. Model number 330. The back with a small hallmark in the form of a swan indicating this item was once imported into France. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. There are some indentions to the end of the handle. The blade is in good condition and looks quite beautiful. Measures 14 1/8" length x 1 1/2" wide at the handle. Weighs 254.4 grams.
