I am selling my entire collection of Hardy Boys book as well as some other books in my collection. The Hardy Boys collection consists of over 220 different books and 1 or 2 duplicates. The collection includes early books from the 1920s through the later picture cover books of the 60's and 70's and all in between. There are 1st editions, harder to find variations and examples of all the different dust jacket art, spine types, book boards and end papers and even story revisions. Information on each book that I provide comes mostly from the fine guide, Hardy and Hardy Investigations 6th edition by Tony Carpentieri and Paul Mular. If you are looking for a certain book for your collection or just readers for your kids or grandkids, check my listing periodically because it will take some time to get all these listed and I will do it randomly. All my jacketed books are protected by Mylar, done by me or a previous owner. I'll combine shipping if requested.

This copy of The Mystery of Cabin Island is the 8th title in the Hardy Boys series. It is the 19th printing of this title, printed in 1941. It was the last printing to used the white spine dust jacket with the W S Rogers artwork for this title. Rogers also drew the frontispiece. This printing uses the brown book with the dark brown lettering and has the orange Gretta, (J Clemens Gretta), endpapers.

The white spine dust jacket has very light edgewear on the front and some chipping on the top and bottom of the spine. The red shield is barely faded and completely visible. The spine has a light water stain that can be seen close to the title. This is a very nice looking DJ. The brown book has all of it's gloss and looks brand new at first glance. Looking closer you can see a tiny dent on the top of the front cover and a small bump on the spine bottom front corner. Down the length of the spine can be seen a fold mark, not a crease, just evidence that the book had been opened. Inside, the orange endpapers look clean, bright and unmarked. The pages are also in excellent condition. The binding is as tight and new looking as anyone could ask for. On the top of the pages which are colored blue, there are some faded spots, very small and scattered. You won't find many 83 year old books that look this good.

The H&H designation is The Mystery of Cabin Island 1941A-19
