Here we have a very rare small size tureen manufactured by Bow.
Bow was tied with Chelsea as the first porcelain factory in England,
The makers marks on this tureen are the earliest Bow makers mark dating this closer to 1747.
It wasn't until towards the end of the 18th century that they opened the largest porcelain manufactory in the Country "New Canton".
The main tureen itself is in good original condition and the lid has just a small chip to the inner rim.
The plate/saucer however has a more severe crack and will require restoration.
The plate could of course be discarded and you would still have purchased a very high end item.
Please rest assured this will be very well packaged for a safe journey to the winning bidder.
Total tureen height 12cm, height excluding lid 7.5cm, top rim diameter 13cm, length handle to handle 18.5cm, saucer diameter 18cm.
