TH350 DIRECT CLUTCH DRUM WITH 36 ELEMENT INTERMEDIATE SPRAG

The TH350 is one of the "go to" transmission for modern high powered street and race cars.


When torque and horsepower levels increase so do internal line pressures for these transmissions. The increased load it put through the transmissions internal components.


Intermediate Sprag failures are common in TH350 transmissions when shift kits, full manual or transbrake valve bodies are installed for performance applications.


The common roller type sprag/one way clutch becomes a weak point above 500HP. A simple upgrade is to install a hardened outer sprag race. Unfortunately the ramp and roller style sprag is still in place and doesn't spread load around the sprag race evenly, often resulting in outer race failure and a substantial repair bill.


This drum incorporates a TH400 style sprag with a lug/element type design that greatly increases torque load capabilities. This item is able to

hold a much greater torque load, reducing failure and expensive repairs.

This sprag is a genuine Borg Warner 36 Element Sprag as used on Pro Mod style aftermarket drums.


This unit also incorporates the Sonnax 35723HD-02 outer race, further increasing torque handling capabilities. Coupled with a spiral-lock style retaining circlip this item is a must for any high performance TH350 transmission.
