This 32-page issue has pictures & blurbs about (among MANY other things):

-       A 1/3rd page photo of Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig on the dugout steps choosing bats (with a note indicating that the 2 of them combine for 1/7th of the American League total of home runs to that point in the season)

-       A full page spread on the Chicago Cubs “fighting for another pennant” – including photos of 6 of the players (Hack Wilson, Gabby Hartnett & Kiki Cuyler, among others, AND Mgr. Joe McCarthy)

-       A full-page picture of Pleione, the winner of the Commodore Astor Cup sailing race

-       A full page “story” on “Getting Ready to Build the Boulder Dam”

-       A ¼ page photo of Charles Lindbergh “making his debut at a broadcasting studio”,  as he prepares to speak “over the most comprehensive radio hook-up ever contrived for the benefit of one man”

-       An interesting full page “story” on how Ford was recycling old cars

-       A 2/3rds page spread about the “DO-X” – which, at the time, was the “world’s biggest plane”

-       Two full pages on women’s fashion – including “the fall hat”, and outfits for “September days on the golf course”

-       A full page on “stars and scenes of the new films” – including photos of John Barrymore, Jeanette MacDonald and others

-       An interesting “story” about how readers of the NY Times in 70 towns and cities outside of NYC can get same day copies of the paper that morning thanks to an airplane delivery network

Condition is probably better than you’d expect from something made of newsprint, and coming up on 100 years old. Please see photos for exact condition.

I have another Mid-Week Pictorial issue from the same year up for auction this week. Win both and I will package them together, and send you an invoice that includes a reduced combined shipping total.
