- Aber bleiben Sie dabei und lassen Sie Ihren Atemregler nicht aus den Augen. Sollte der "kleine" Eingriff an der 2. Stufe in eine längere Prozedur an Ihrem Atemregler ausarten, dann fragen Sie nach der Ursache.
- Hören Sie das Wort "Mitteldruck", dann wird jemand versuchen, eine Justage auch an der ersten Stufe vorzunehmen.
- Solange Sie keine erste Stufe mit Antifreezing haben oder gar nur einen einfach Kolbenregler, müssen Sie noch nicht beunruhigt sein.
- Bläst aber eine 2. Stufe trotz aller Einstellbemühungen an der ersten Stufe immer noch ab, dann verzichten Sie lieber auf das Tauchen mit Ihrem Atemregler und leihen sich einen funktionsfähigen aus.
- Ob es "etwas größeres" ist, können Sie ganz leicht selbst feststellen, auch wenn Sie mit der Materie nicht vertraut sind: Legen Sie Sich dafür diesen handlichen Mitteldruckmanometer zu, den jeder verreisende Taucher im Rucksack haben sollte.
- So gehen Sie vor:
- Dieses Manometer können Sie ganz einfach an den Standard-Inflatorschlauch Ihres Atemreglers ankuppeln - genau dort, wo Sie sonst den Inflator des Jackets ankuppeln. Betätigen Sie ein - zweimal die Luftdusche und lesen Sie den Mitteldruck ab.
- Ist dieser wesentlich zu hoch, aber stabil, dann können Sie getrost erwarten, dass Ihr Regler vorort wieder einsatzfähig gemacht werden kann. Steigt dieser aber unaufhörlich (bis bei einer 2. Stufe das Abblasen beginnt), dann vergessen Sie am Besten alle guten Ratschläge, packen Ihren Lungenautomaten ein und bringen ihn nach Ihrer Reise zu uns zur Reparatur/Revision.
- Wurde Ihr Atemregler während einer Reise eingestellt, so ist es eine gute Idee, ihn nach der Reise in einen Fachbetrieb zum Durchchecken zu bringen.
- Der gute Tipp: Vermeiden Sie immer, dass Wasser in das Reglersystem eindringen kann. Dies geschieht sehr leicht, wenn der Atemregler sich in drucklosem Zustand befindet.
- Drücken Sie niemals beim Spülen auf die Luftduschknöpfe und atmen Sie niemals Ihre Flasche vollständig leer.
- (Dabei kann durch den mangelnden Gegendruck in der Flasche, durch die 2. Stufe Wasser in die Flasche eindringen)
- Bringen Sie Ihren Atemregler einmal jährlich zur Revision in eine Fachwerkstatt, auch wenn Sie nur wenig getaucht sind. Denn bestimmte Bauteile eines Atemreglers altern nicht nur durch mechanische Beanspruchung, sondern auch durch chemische Belastung. Zum Beispiel werden dem Ausgangsstoff in der O-Ringfertigung, chemische Weichmacher hinzugefügt die dann im Laufe der Zeit ausgasen und somit zur Versprödung der O-Ringe beitragen.
- Alte und spröde O-Ringe gehören zur Hauptfehlerquelle bei Atemreglern.
