This is not a physical SD card, this is a preconfigured SD Card Image, plug and play, ready to go that you can use on the SD card of your choice and allows the Raspberry Pi Pi2 Pi3 or Pi4 to turn into a wireless access point.

Attention: this image requires a wifi dongle that supports "Access Point" mode. If you are not sure if your Wifi dongle supports this mode then please do not buy this image.

You can use this image to:

  • Extend your existing WiFi network
  • Learn more about wireless networking
  • Create a free Access Point
  • Build a honeytrap to learn about network-hardening
  • Provide guest wireless access firewalled off/through your main network
You will need:
  • A Raspberry Pi, Pi2, Pi3, Pi4.
  • A boot SD card for the Raspberry Pi.
  • A USB WiFi device that supports "Access Point" mode (not needed with Pi3 or Pi4).
  • An Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet.

This project does not require any coding or compilation. Very basic Linux and networking knowledge would be useful, but is not essential.

I tested this SD Card image with the popular and cheap wifi dongles Realtek 8188CUS and the Ralink RT5370 that you can buy on ebay for less than $9.00.
To know which wifi dongle you have simply type on the terminal the command "lsusb" to obtain a list of all usb connected devices and you will read
something like this:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0bda:8176 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188CUS 802.11n WLAN Adapter
or this:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter

Please understand I cannot afford the time to provide support or troubleshooting instructions for your specific wifi dongle, nor I can guarantee it will work. If your wifi dongle supports Access Point mode is  likely to work out of the box but in some cases it will require some tweaking. Also I cannot provide support for your specific custom configurations. I do provide some basic troubleshooting and configuration instructions with this image.

NEW: NOOBS is a way to make setting up a Raspberry Pi easier. You won’t need network access, and you won’t need any special imaging software. Just grab the NOOBS zip file provided, and unpack it onto a freshly formatted 4GB (or larger) SD card. When you boot up for the first time, your system will automatically install. Could not be easier!

Please noteThis image does not include any media nor any illegal or copyrighted materialThis listing does not include a Raspberry PI computer and does not include an SD card and does not include a Wifi Dongle.
