- Colour - you can choose 4300K (white), 6000K (white with a hint of blue), 8000K (blue), or 10,000K (darker blue) - message me after your purchase to specify what colour you want. Otherwise we supply the default (and most common) 4300k if we dont hear from you. This number is just a colour and not brightness. Some people think a bigger number must be brighter but in fact they become bluer and darker and ironically less light if anything.
The JTX globes in this kit have metal bases so as to withstand heat, never get brittle and crumble like cheaper plastic bases. The glass tube is narrow enough to fit lights without having to file the light out (a common fault with a lot of others). All JTX HID globes have precise location of the bright spot consistent with conventional Halogen globes so as to ensure perfect focus - something LED globes dont do very well.

Have a look at the globes in your lights and see if you need H3 or H1. These are the two most popular globes for single beam lights including Hi Beam Headlights. In most cases your globes will have H3 or H1 written on them.
All glass globes require that you dont touch the glass with your fingers. The reason is that oil from your skin gets super hot on the glass when the lights are on and this can cause the glass to break. It's something our Dad's tell us when we are kids. It still applies these days too.
The H3 globe base is recognisable for being circular with 2 indentations either side, and also for the small wire protuding from the base.
Spotlights made for H3 globes require the bright spot to be precisely the right distance up from the base so that the light is in focus. At JTX we treat this aspect seriously. An out of focus light is bright to look at but not look with.
JTX Lighting offer these globes in Halogen and HID and here's an explanation for each...
Halogen is incandescent meaning power runs through a very fine wire which glows hot. It is surrounded by Halogen gas which not only contains no oxygen so there can be no rusting but Halogen shines brightly when heated.
HID (High Intensity Discharge) trumps everything with exceptional brightness and very long range. The light output of HID is amazing. HID works by passing a constant spark or arc of electricity across a field of Xenon gas. To achieve such an arc the volts are increased by ballasts which transform 12v or 24v to 23,000 volts. By it's very nature power at those volts wants to short out and so it is imporatnt to stick with quality brands such as JTX when using HID to maintain reliability.
Why we dont sell LED Globes .. LED globes do not focus well in reflector style lights. The bright spot of an LED globe is over too large an area and so most of it is outside the focal point of the light. That means light is scattered all over the place and not enough light is where you are looking. On the other hand, LED Lights can not be beaten as lights built for LED chips on circuit boards with projector lenses. We sell those too but they are not globes.
