This auction is for cello book 1 from the Essential Elements series.  The book is brand new, never used.

From publisher Hal Leonard comes this excellent series of string instrument method books, written to instruct an aspiring maestro from their very first notes up through developing advanced technique.  Book 1 starts from the very beginning with no assumed prior musical knowledge from the student, and covers holding the instrument, beginning to read music, first notes, scales, and some basic songs.  Book 2 continues to develop music reading skills and technical ability, and introduces more challenging material and music theory.  Book 3 introduces developing more advanced technique including shifting, vibrato and bow control, more complex key signatures and music theory, and increasingly technical pieces.  These are very comprehensive and enjoyable to learn with books, and are used by many of the schools and private teachers we work with, as well as in our own studio by our on-site instructor.

Again, this auction is only for cello book 1, with the included DVD and CD.  We carry the rest of the books in this series for violin, viola, cello and double bass as well, please see our other auctions or contact us if you do not see what you are looking for.

About Us

Established in 1989, Classic Violins is a family owned and operated business operating out of Mundelein, Illinois.  We offer many services for string musicians, including instrument repair and restoration performed by graduates of the Chicago School of Violin Making, top quality and professionally set-up instruments for rent, and sales of fine violins, violas, cellos, bows and accessories for musicians.  Our inventory consists of a wide variety of modern and antique instruments made by luthiers in Bulgaria, America, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.  We also offer instruments made by our own luthiers, as well instruments that are made to order.  All of our instruments offered for sale in our store have been carefully selected, inspected and set-up in order that we may provide our customers with the finest quality instruments at the best value. We don't believe in price "mark-ups" just to offer "sales" later; our prices are based on our honest appraisals of workmanship, materials and sound quality which we discern from our years of experience.  For more information about us, our shop, services we offer, and our inventory, please visit classicviolins.com

On our Ebay marketplace, we will be offering fine new and antique instruments, as well many instruments, bows and cases that have come from our past rental inventory. These instruments from our past rental inventory may have sustained cosmetic or minor structural damage in the past, but have been professionally repaired, carefully set up to the standards of The Chicago School of Violin Making, and tested to be sure they meet the same standards as the professional instruments we offer for sale. In this way, we are pleased to be able to offer high quality instruments at a discounted price. Be assured, these instruments ARE NOT cheap imports being sold by someone with no musical knowledge that are prevalent on Ebay. These are quality instruments, maintained and set up by professionals at a real violin shop with a physical store front that will still be here when others have disappeared. If you are seeking an instrument for your child (or yourself) that you can be sure is not just a 'violin shaped object', we invite you browse our store, and ask any questions you have before purchase.  We are always pleased to discuss our instruments (we don't keep secrets about what our instruments are!), and help to make sure you are getting an instrument that will suit your needs.

Shipping

From our years of shipping instruments across the country and internationally, we have extensive experience in how to best package instruments for transport so that they reach their destination safely.  Please understand that while we tune our instruments before shipping them, re-tuning may be required when the instrument reaches you; this is normal.  All instruments will be shipped with delivery confirmation.  We welcome international buyers, but can only accept payment through PayPal for international orders.  **International buyers, please contact us prior to purchase to get a shipping quote, as it will be different from that listed in this auction**

Return Policy

Returns are accepted within 14 days of when the instrument is received, and a full refund of the purchase price will be issued.  The instrument (and case, bow, accessories, etc.) must be returned in the same condition as received, otherwise a minimum of $100 fee will be applied (at our discretion) to cover our time and labor in returning them to sellable condition.  In the event of returning, the buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs, and is responsible for any damage that may occur to the instrument (or any part of the outfit, such as case, bow, accessories, etc.) that are a result of improper packaging, transportation damage or otherwise.  This return policy applies ONLY to instruments purchased online, NOT from our physical store front.
