A Beautiful Porcelain Figurine entitled " The Beachcomber" HN#2487 from the Sea Characters Collection by Royal Doulton. This Lovely hand - made and hand decorated matte - colored Figurine is designed by Mary Nicholl and issued in 1973 - retired 1976. It features a bearded beachcomber squatting on a rock on a sandy beach, looking for shells. He wears a pair of cut - off pants, a purple shirt opened to the waist with his sleeves rolled up, a bandana around his neck, and a sun hat to shield his face from the sun. He holds up a broken shell that he has just collected. This whimsical Figurine measures approx. 6 5/8" high, base measures approx. 5 3/8" in length and 4 7/8 " wide" .
