There is a work-around if you avoid the basket, buy each item separately then after confirming purchase, do not proceed to the Pay pages
I see the items as unpaid, and send you an invoice with correct postage. Not simple but the only way to avoid the need for postage refund

If buying several items please ask for an invoice using the REQUEST A TOTAL button so we can make the postage correct. We adhere strictly to the eBay code of charging only what it costs to pack and send orders. I charge only what Royal Mail demand for weight or thickness. If you change your mind or decide an item is not what you wanted, and return an item in re-saleable condition I will exchange it or refund only the original price of the item. Obviously the buyer must pay the return postage.
If an item is faulty or damaged in transit we will replace or refund and pay postage. Please do not abuse the ebay return policy by describing an unwanted item as 'defective' so that we have to pay the return postage.eBay return policy applies:
