INSTRUCTIONS

These instructions are provided for your convenience only. Since we cannot control how careful the sanding process and the water lubricating is applied, there is no guarantee offered and absolutely NO responsibility accepted for the results that you obtain. We urge you to Google headlight polishing to determine the best procedure to fit your application. We are in no way responsible for the results.

Step 1.

Tape off all paint surrounding the headlight. You do not want any scratches on the paint.

Step 2.

Using a water spray bottle, spray the water onto the headlight and the sandpaper. Be sure to use plenty of water, as it acts as a lubricant.

Step 3.

Start with the lowest grit sandpaper. 400, 600 or 800 grit are recommended starting points, depending on how clouded and pitted your headlight lenses are. The 400 grit sandpaper is recommended if your headlights are extremely pitted, nicked and fogged over. You may want to use a higher grit such as 600 or 800 grit to start if the headlights are just fogged or yellowed. Wet sand the headlights thoroughly with the starting grit that you choose, either 400, 600 or 800 grit sandpaper. Use plenty of water.

Step 4.

Firmly clean the headlight with the lowest grit you choose until you can see the yellow film coming off the headlight. Your headlight will look scratchy and cloudy after this first sanding step until you finish with the highest grit. DO NOT SKIP GRITS AS EACH GRIT REMOVES THE SCRATCHES FROM THE PREVIOUS GRIT AS THEY GET FINER UNTIL A POLISHED FINISH IS ACHIEVED.

Step 5.

Repeat the previous step, but use the next higher grit of sandpaper. Your headlights should start to look less cloudy after each successive grit

Step 6.

Repeat one last time with the highest 2500 grit. Your headlights should look highly polished and new at this point.

Step 7.

You should now apply some sort of a sealer finish such as Rain-X or a clear coat spray.  You can also use waxes or other headlight sealers.
