This great diecast enthusiast's item is a Matchbox Models Of Yesteryear No. Y-9 1912 Simplex, original 1:48 scale model in red diecast metal, with black plastic roof hood, yellow plastic seats and front grille with brass coloured surround, headlights and handbrake lever, chrome spoked wheels and black tyres, presented in its co-ordinating window box, one of the wood-grain effect boxes that Matchbox switched to between 1974 and 1978, the interior and front panel of the boxes in a variety of bright colours, usually matching or toning with the colour of the model.

• Model condition - this classic vintage car model is close to mint condition, no marks to the body work, but the little plastic pegs that hold the plastic hood in place have broken at the front, with one of them lodged in the hole in the bottom of the supporting strut and the other one missing, otherwise an outstanding example of a great Matchbox Yesteryear model 9.9/10
• Box condition - also in superb condition, a small surface tear to the bottom edge where it looks like a price label was removed, plus other slight signs of shelf/storage life such as rubs to the edges, overall clean, crisp, bright, sound and strong, all flaps and inner tucks present and firmly attached, cellophane intact, superb! 9/10
